Building a Greener Earth One Community at a Time
Spa Adriana is an Aveda lifestyle salon and spa celebrating more than twenty-five years in Huntington Village. It is truly a green business. Co-founders Adriana and John Vater have incorporated their admiration and respect for the earth into the very fabric of the salon: all building materials (including stucco, flooring and paint) used in the development of Spa Adriana were environmentally-friendly. As an Aveda salon and spa, Spa Adriana continues the organic trend in hair- and skincare pioneered by Aveda 30 years ago by using Aveda products exclusively (all of which are plant-derived). John and Adriana have evolved their commitment to the earth by establishing another eco-friendly business.
Ceviche Tours (www.cevichetours.com), an ecotourism travel agency that provides sustainable ecotourism services to travelers visiting the Yucatan and Isla Mujeres, Mexico. This fragile reef environment is part of the second largest barrier reef on the planet, and serves as the nursery of the Caribbean and the migratory path of sea turtles, water foul, game fishes and the largest fish in the world, the whale shark. Through education and photo identification efforts, it is Spa Adriana’s goal to be part of a worldwide effort to protect and preserve the whale sharks. As participants on our whale shark tours, guests are invited to be part of those identification and tracking efforts.
